Noritake’s GE Series OLED Displays for AI, Data Center, and Semiconductor Equipment

Table of Contents
As AI technology advances, data centers become increasingly dense, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment grows more sophisticated, more electronic components and control devices must fit into limited space inside equipment. This makes compact size and ease of integration important considerations when selecting displays for monitoring equipment status, viewing settings, and displaying warnings and error messages.
Noritake’s GE Series OLED display modules are designed to meet the needs of these space-constrained, high-density applications.
OLED Display Modules Designed for 1U Rack-Mount Equipment
The GE Series offers a lineup of compact OLED display modules suitable for integration into 1U-high equipment designed for standard 19-inch racks based on the EIA-310 standard. These modules provide display solutions for applications where vertical installation space is limited.
The GE Series incorporates the power supply and functions required for OLED display control into the module itself, eliminating the need for a separate host board dedicated to display control. This integrated design helps simplify system configuration and reduce the space required for surrounding circuitry.
Despite their compact size, GE Series modules deliver high-resolution images, high contrast, and wide viewing angles. They are well suited for displaying equipment status, configuration settings, operating information, warnings, and error messages.
The GE Series offers both monochrome and color OLED display options to meet diverse application needs. The lineup includes two monochrome models and the GE160X59C-C933C color OLED model, which features a compact 30 × 80 mm PCB design for more expressive color displays.

Serial Communication Control from MCUs and SBCs
The GE Series operates from a single 5 V power supply and supports interfaces such as synchronous serial, UART, SPI, and I²C, depending on the model. The modules can be connected to microcontroller units (MCUs) or single-board computers (SBCs) to display text and graphics. Noritake’s proprietary command system and code libraries help simplify the implementation of display functions in equipment.
The GE Series also uses the same command system as Noritake’s GU-7000 Series vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) modules. This makes it easier for designers to consider replacing existing display devices while leveraging their established VFD control expertise.

Choosing a Display for Long-Term Equipment Operation
For industrial equipment designed for long service lives, including semiconductor manufacturing equipment and data center infrastructure, display performance is only one consideration. Long-term product availability and future replacement options are also important.
Noritake has supplied display devices, including VFDs, for more than 40 years. Drawing on this experience, we also support customers in replacing discontinued products and transitioning to alternative components.
Combining compact design, flexible control options, and high display performance with consideration for long-term equipment operation, the GE Series offers a practical OLED display module solution for demanding applications.
If you are integrating a display into semiconductor manufacturing equipment, inspection and measurement instruments, data center equipment, or AI-related devices—or considering replacing an existing display—consider Noritake’s GE Series OLED display modules.
