Rediscover the benefits of Noritake’s VFD
You may notice the VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) is used in your father's old radio, an old alarm clock, or the dash of an old automobile, and that is because the VFD is a self-emitting display device that provides excellent longevity and legibility even in dark and harsh environments.
Although Noritake developed this display technology and product in 1967, we do not think it is obsolete because the VFD has valuable advantages compared with other display devices as illustrated in the video links below.
Please rediscover the many benefits of the VFD for your new design or application requirements!

Viewing Angle
When rotating, LCD starts to get harder to see. However, there are no problems reading the display contents on a VFD when rotating it.
Low Operating Temperature
At lower temperatures, the LCD (bottom) has a slow response time whereas the VFD is unaffected.
Color Filter
The color Emitted is changed and the contrast ratio is increased by color filters.
Display Response Comparison
LCD causes ghosting which makes the LCD hard to read. Ghosting is especially noticeable when scrolling or the display is constantly updating. The VFD module is unaffected.
